Human Rights Campaigner

We have a great opportunity for an experienced human rights campaigner to work on the Demand Dignity Campaign, Amnesty International's flagship campaign on poverty and human rights. Candidates must be experienced campaigners or organizers. Your experience should include a track record of developing creative campaign strategies that effectively mobilize diverse constituencies to achieve real human rights/social justice victories. Candidates must be able to multi task in a fast moving work environment. Successful candidates will play a role in implementing a new Amnesty International campaign, with an initial emphasis on maternal mortality, the focus of a forthcoming AIUSA report. Other areas of focus include corporate accountability and human rights abuse in slum areas.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus four to six years professional experience in campaigning or community organizing. Experience in and/or demonstrated interest in issues related to poverty and human rights. Career interest in and strong commitment to human rights and campaigning. Highly developed leadership skills. Ability and commitment to work collegially and collaboratively within the unit and with volunteer leaders. Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Foreign language skills desired; Spanish preferred.
