Digital Campaign Manager
CeaseFirePA, Pennsylvania’s leading nonprofit advocacy organization working to end gun violence, is accepting applications for a Digital Campaign Manager. As the Digital Campaign Manager, you build and lead our digital presence, developing and implementing digital strategies to grow engagement, expand our reach, and motivate Pennsylvanians to take action for life-saving policies.
CeaseFirePA envisions a world where everyone across the Commonwealth feels safe from gun violence because they are safe. Tragically, gun violence takes the lives of 1,900 Pennsylvanians every year. You are 21 times more likely to die by gun homicide if you are Black. Rural communities lose loved ones to suicide on an alarming basis. Over our two decades of work, we’ve expanded background checks, disarmed abusers and won $185 million for community-based violence prevention programs. We’ve become Pennsylvania’s leading organization working to end this public health crisis as we fight illegal trafficking, boost funding for safer communities, and save the next life from suicide.
As the Digital Campaign Manager, you will communicate powerful stories to convey the tragic impacts of gun violence, connecting people to small and large actions they can take to help end this devastation in their communities. You will write persuasive narratives, craft motivating viral social media, and create compelling web content. You’ll use your digital skills to build on our existing committed community of volunteers who are ready to engage in the real world, advocate to lawmakers for action, and hold them accountable for inaction. You will work with our Campaign Director & Executive Director to identify and execute digital campaigns that compliment our field organizing and advocacy work, along with unique online projects like Deadly by Design, to build a bigger movement. We’re planning to invest in growing our digital program by adding texting, digital ads and other initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and Launch Strategic Campaigns that Grow Our Online Reach using proven and experimental tactics to drive traffic, advocate for change, and drive small dollar fundraising through email, social media, and web. Manage a digital calendar for all platforms.
Craft powerful narratives in written and visual mediums, in a succinct, compelling manner that motivates advocacy and action, often taking complicated information and making it more digestible. Implement our day-to-day digital content strategy;
Expand our small dollar fundraising base and build renewal campaigns, implement online fundraising strategies, and prospect potential donors online in close collaboration with our Director of Development;
Analyze Data and Identify Technology: Manage and evaluate our data and lists to improve engagement and assist in recruiting new supporters. Designing systems for advocacy and development staff to expand reach in online databases and coordinate offline volunteer activities. Complete analysis of data to report on campaign impacts and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with a team of organizers, advocates and fundraisers to amplify their work and help identify messages that will drive public action across the Commonwealth and hold elected officials accountable;
As political opportunities arise about our issues, quickly synthesizing information to launch digital communications at a moment’s notice, whether in response to a shooting or relevant legislation moving rapidly in Harrisburg.
Creating a bank of assets that are ready to go and versatile enough to be used in multiple situations.
Make basic updates to the website and work closely with our contract webmaster on higher level changes.
What we’re looking for in you:
You have at least four years of experience in digital work and communications in a nonprofit setting. Experience in an advocacy, campaigning, or grassroots organizing setting is ideal.
You understand digital best practices, love to keep up to date on new strategies, and explore innovative ways to use online mediums to drive change, and grow and learn in your roles.
You have very strong writing and editing skills as well as strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills;
You have a strategic sense of how to develop messaging to advance campaigns and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
You are a self-starter, but also enjoy working in a team.
You can produce compelling visual content, including graphics, edited video, and multimedia.
You are passionate about curbing gun violence and working for social justice and a better world.
You have a commitment to and experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds, including different ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds as well as the LGBTQ+ community.
You are able to take initiative, drive the strategy, and manage multiple projects across teams simultaneously while maintaining quality. You are a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail.
You have extensive experience with CRMs, digital marketing platforms, Canva, and social media platforms.
Familiarity with EveryAction is a big plus.
Additional language skills are a plus
Please note: We are open to hiring a candidate with fewer years of experience for this role at the Associate level. If you meet a number of these qualifications, but don’t have four years of work experience in digital work/ communications, we encourage you to apply and we can discuss which position may be the better fit for you.

Details: Candidates can be based in the Pittsburgh or Philadelphia areas (or open to relocating to one of these locations), with a preference for candidates in Philadelphia. We will consider candidates who are based in other Pennsylvania locations for remote work. CeaseFirePA works on a hybrid model where there is a local office with an average of 2 days a week in the office to connect with other team members and coordinate activities. This is a full-time position and you will report to our Campaign Director and work closely with our Director of Development and Executive Director.
SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary is $60,000 – $68,000 annually for the Digital Campaign Manager role, depending on ability and experience. If hired as the Digital Campaign Associate, the range is $40,000 – $45,000. We have an excellent benefits package for full-time staff, including fully-covered health care for them and one dependent, paid time off, retirement plan with matching support, and a training stipend.
